Horses for Sale

At Penny Lane Stables we take sales and leasing very seriously. We feel your safety is our first priority. We will do our best to tell you absolutely everything we know, both good an bad, about a horse or pony. If we feel it is a poor fit, we will politely explain that to you and either direct you to a better fit or suggest you keep looking. We love horses and want them to all have great homes, but we also expect the horses to be great partners for the people who own/lease them. No horse is worth getting hurt. No amount of money is worth putting someone in a questionable spot. For this reason we are very picky about the horses we represent and the homes they go to.

Sophie is a well refined, TB mare that stands out in a crowd. She has three comfortable gaits and a smooth jump. She is a lovely mover, has great lateral work and easy changes.  She is very gentle, easy, and well-mannered on the ground. Sophie has her Jockey Club papers but was never raced and has no tattoo. She is out of Sundae Bride by Millennium Wind.

Sophie has show mileage at Canterbury, Dreamstone, and Broadmoor up to 2'3" and was always in the ribbons. However due to her owner being a full time working college student, Sophie had not been consistently worked for nearly a year. She has been started back in a professional training program for the past 6 weeks and has shown huge progress in that short period of time. She has been jumping some 2'6" courses and has the potential for much more with time.

Sophie could excel as a dressage horse, a jumper or even an eventer. She is always brave and honest. She has a large stride and enjoys a more forward type of ride with a confident yet soft rider. She loves to hack out in the field alone or with others and is brave to the log jumps. She is safe and enjoys being ridden around the property outside of a ring setting.

Sophie would make a good project horse for an ambitious young rider or adult amateur on a budget.  She would excel with an intermediate rider in a steady riding program to further her education.

Highly motivated seller and open to reasonable offers.
Priced to sell at $4500.

Talented, 6 y.o. 17.1 Oldenburg Mare

“Petunia” is very a fun and incredibly quiet ride, yet very light up front and responsive to your leg. She has a huge stride and gets down the lines with ease all while going in a snaffle. Petunia has a natural rhythm and is easy to find the distance to your jumps. This horse has always been brave with no spook or fussiness. Improving her education has been an easy process as she is very smart and willing to learn. She loves attention, has a great mind, and a winning personality.

Petunia is uncomplicated and safe enough for even an intermediate beginner. She will definitely make a babysitter one day as she is very forgiving to any mistakes and is always looking to make you happy.

Petunia will easily make a great prospect horse as she is eligible green and with more miles would make an excellent Derby, A/O, Junior, or Equitation horse. The higher the fence the better she jumps. She even has enough scope that with the right professional training she could excel in the jumper ring as well.

She has been Champion at several local shows and requires little to no prep. She is an extremely talented, eye catcher and is ready to start her career on the "A" rated circuits.

She is competitively priced right now for a quick sale. Scoop this one up now and start the new show year with a fancy new prospect. With more mileage under her belt Petunia’s value will easily increase.

She is offered for sale or lease to an approved show home only.

O' Dark Hundred

3 y.o. Candian Warmblood Mare

Flashy, well-started hunter prospect who has been successfully introduced to flying changes and started over fences. SMT 15.3h. She exemplifies a great work ethic and enjoys her job. She is a quality mover with top ribbons in good company and has proven herself to be the same uncomplicated horse at the shows as she is at home, requiring little to no prep for a winning ride. She has been started slowly and correctly with a focus on remaining soft, supple, and balanced in addition to well-mannered on the ground. She is a barn favorite, loved by children, and easily handled by them. She will easily be finished out by an amateur under professional supervision and has progressed immensely in a consistent program. She has a lifetime registry with USEF and is eligible for registration with American Warmblood Society. She would make a great addition to any show barn or private owner that wants success in the show ring with an easy, talented prospect that is eager to learn.

Rolled Gold

Rolo is an adorable buckskin pony that will stand out in the crowd. He will measure as a large. He is super easy and uncomplicated. He is currently being used in lessons with kids riding less then 6 months. He would make a great pony for a rider at any level. He could be used for a beginner or go into the Children's or Pony Hunters right now. Rolo is very safe and quiet with no spook, bite, or kick. He is a extremely cute mover with a large, even canter stride. He does his lead changes as well. He is currently schooling 2'9" at home. He has had a few months of professional training and his price will go up with additional training and showing. Rolled Gold will make an excellent 'A' show contender. We currently need to make room in the barn and hate to see him leave us.
